Terry Lady, 85, passed away on July 21, 2026. Born on April 18, 1941, he was a devoted follower of Christ who lived a life anchored by his deep love for God, his unwavering integrity, and a quiet, tenderhearted strength.
For 62 beautiful years, he was a deeply committed husband to Carol, and his legacy of steadfast love continues to grow through his three children, Jim, John, and Robyn, and eight grandchildren.
A patriotic veteran who served two years in the United States Army, his incredible work ethic was a hallmark of his character. This drive carried him into a distinguished career, beginning with a decade at Berkshire Life Insurance Company, where his steadfast dedication earned him both Rookie of the Year and Man of the Year honors. He subsequently earned his license as a Financial Advisor, guiding and serving his clients with that same integrity until his eightieth birthday.
Despite his professional success, he was equally known for his profound generosity and compassionate spirit. When he wasn’t quietly serving his community or providing for his family, he found great joy in sports. He loved cheering on the Redskins, Capitals, and Nationals, but his truest passion was golf. An avid golfer throughout his entire life—a love that flourished during his days playing collegiately for the College of William & Mary—the game was a constant source of joy for him.
He will be remembered for the profound, gentle impact of a life incredibly well-lived. We celebrate the good, good news, that he is now glorified in the eternal presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Williamsburg Community Chapel, 3899 John Tyler Hwy, Williamsburg, VA 23185 on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 3:00 PM.
