Kim Tu Thi Tran, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, entered eternal rest on December 2, 2025 with her family by her side. Kim Tu was born on June 14, 1949 to Danh Kim Tran and Thien Thi Nguyen in Cho Moi, An Giang, Vietnam.
Kim Tu lived a life rooted in faith, courage, and steadfast devotion to her family and loved ones. Always unwavering in her convictions, she was a big personality in a small package.
She devoted her whole life to loving and nurturing her family and friends. Bestowed with the gift of gab, she could talk to and befriend anyone. The kitchen was where her heart shone brightest - cooking was her way of showing love, and she delighted in preparing everyone’s favorite dishes.
Kim Tu is survived by her husband, Tai Van Nguyen, her daughters Anh Thu (Auguste) Nguyen, Van Anh Nguyen, Tram Nguyen, and Tram Anh (Christopher) Lunsford, and four grandchildren Dillon, Dani, Lucas, and Thomas. Kim Tu also leaves behind a brokenhearted, supportive group of relatives, including siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
A visitation and prayer service will be held in Richmond, VA on Sunday, December 7 at 5:30pm at Woody’s Funeral Home, 1771 N Parham Road. A Catholic funeral mass and celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, December 9 at 9:00am at the Church of the Vietnamese Martyrs, 12500 Patterson Avenue.
