Vanessa Rea Broughton, age 48, of Henrico, VA and formerly of Quinton, VA, passed peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Michael Escalera, their beloved daughter, Emma Elizabeth Broughton Escalera, her brother, James Broughton, her sister, Rhonda Broughton Hobson, her Uncle Shelby Broughton and Aunt Nada Conway, her mother-in-law, Rachel Gray, and beloved family and friends. The light of her loving spirit lives on in her daughter, Emma, and in all those she loved and who loved her so deeply. She will be missed and forever cherished. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Bannard’s Chapel at Saint Catherine’s School, 6001 Grove Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23226. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
