Virgil Reid Jr., of Richmond, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend, passed away November 17, 2012. Reid was born December 29, 1993 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He is survived by his parents, V.R. "Mac" McGarity, originally from Virginia Beach, and Janice Fry McGarity, originally from Fairfax; his two brothers, Aaron Jones and Trevor Louis; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald V. McGarity, of Ithaca, N.Y., and Mr. and Mrs. Clifton J. Fry Jr., of Fairfax; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Reid's easy smile and generous heart will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A time to greet family and offer condolences will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 North Parham Road. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, 1 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 903 Forest Ave., Henrico, Va. A reception in the fellowship hall will immediately follow the service. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Reid's name to Operation Smile.
