

Wade Stevenson Parsley (Steve) died January 26, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Limerick Parsley, son, James (JP) Parsley, sister, Ellen Wade Parsley Smith, and parents Julian Wade Parsley, Martha Anne Stevenson Parsley, and stepfather Martin Rice. He is survived by his niece Tiffany Prokopis (Pete), his nephew Andrew Stoufer (Amanda), brother – in – law Michael Smith, caregiver Donald Lowery (Donnie), two great nephews George and James Prokopis, two great nieces, Alexis and Avery Stoufer, and his niece Whitney Hughes (Allen), great nieces Nevaeh and Skyylar Hughes and great nephew Michael Hughes, stepsister Carol Rice Kratzke and loving aunts and cousins.
Steve was a graduate of Campbell College. He made his successful career at Roadway and was a member of Trinity United Methodist church. Steve will be remembered as a devoted family man, good friend and neighbor. His wife and son were the lights of his life. He was a cherished family member to aunts, uncles and cousins and was noted for his dry wit. Steve loved basketball, fishing, and nature, and was always happy outdoors, even doing yard work. One of his greatest joys was the beach, with special memories made in Cape Charles, VA and on the Outer Banks, NC.
A graveside service will be held at Westhampton Memorial Park at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, 1/29/2025, and then a Celebration of Life service at Trinity United Methodist Church on 3 p.m., with a small reception at Trinity United Methodist Church following the service.
