Wayne died at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was 86 years old. He lived at Christian Village in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
Wayne was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a Marine through and through.
In the 1980’s, he was voted in the Top Ten of Who’s Who as a salesman primarily for Charles of the Ritz. He loved reading books – especially about espionage, that’s what led to opening Ann’s Book and Cards Store in Ashland, VA.
He loved to garden when he had the chance. He always had a garden at his home in Manassas, VA, where he raised his three loving children with Carole. He also enjoyed taking his family on wonderful camping trips and trips to Disney World. And every summer his children would be excited about the upcoming trip to Virginia Beach.
Wayne is survived by two sons, Wayne Panton of Richmond, VA and David Panton and wife Janet Roth of Macungie, PA, his two brothers, Wallace Panton of Mechanicsville, VA, and Larry Panton of Mechanicsville, VA, and his grandson, James Workman of Mt. Jackson, VA. Sadly, his son, Brian Panton, pre-deceased him.
Services will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 12 at Centenary Methodist Church, 411 E Grace St, Richmond, VA 23219 . Interment will be private.
