

Culley, Jr., W. Jennings, passed away suddenly on November 15, 2013. He was born November 9, 1925 in Newport News, VA, the son of William J. and Pauline Leath Culley. A graduate of Randolph-Macon College, he had a distinguished 60 year career in journalism. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Oliver Culley. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Scott Culley; a daughter, Pamela Culley Bullis (Wayne); a son, Clifford J. Culley (Helen); four grandchildren, Timothy Bullis (Andrea), Amy Buck (Jason), Carol Collins (Michael), Claire Stevens (Thomas); and seven great-grandchildren, Tori, Andrew and Alexandra Bullis, Rebekah, Bethany and Ashley Buck, and Richard Stevens; a sister, Margie Lee Wygal of Newport News; nephews, Robert Wygal and Paul Wygal (Grace); and numerous nephews and nieces in the Oliver family. He is also survived by three step-sons, John W. Fain (Jane), T. Scott Fain (Markus Hodapp), Hugh M. Fain, III (Renee); a step-daughter, Frances Valentino (Tony); step-grandchildren, Courtney, J.C. (Courtney), Gray, Joyce, Audrey and Sally Fain and Margaret Walker .
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 20th, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 903 Forest Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
