William Francis Petruska

PETRUSKA, William Francis "Bill," age 92, of Henrico, Virginia, died peacefully at his home on May 18, 2018. Born in Beaver Meadows, Pennsylvania on April 30, 1926, he was the son of the late Peter and Veronica Petruska. He was preceded in death by his son, Peter Petruska; sister, Dorothy Kattner. He is survived by his wife, Laura; children, Billy Petruska, Sue Bailey (Gary); grandchildren, Billy Petruska (Katie), Michael and Ryan Bailey; sister, Margaret Evanko; brother, Edward Petruska (Shirley). After graduating from high school, Bill served in the United States Army during WWII. After serving his country, he spent 30 years working for W.T. Grant Company, the last four years managing the Grant City store on Parham Road. He later was employed by Medical College of Virginia for 16 years. He loved playing golf and had quite a few holes-in-one. Bill was known for his generosity, hard work, commitment to his family and having great conversations with anyone. He was also a devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Westhampton Memorial Park at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
