Mr. Wilson "Buddy" Abbott Yager Jr.

Wilson Abbott Yager, Jr. (Buddy), born on February 11, 1960 peacefully passed away on February 16, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was greeted in Heaven by his father, Wilson Abbott Yager; his mother, Rosa Mae Yager; his grandson, George Francisco Yager ("Georgie"); and his beloved canine companion, Champ.

He is lovingly missed by his devoted wife, Julie Lynn Yager; his three sisters, Ree (Bobby) Hart, Darlene(Carlos) Munoz, and Wanda(Bob) Rue; his five children, Jeremy(Jessica) Yager, Josh(Heather) Yager, Daniel(Maria) Yager, Sarah(Devin) Haley, and Cassie(Joey) Slate; his grandchildren, Elijah, Aiden, Daniel, Connor, Cecilia, Tucker, Eliana, GraceLynn, Jorja, Liam and Dawson; along with an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Buddy was a man defined by his Christian faith and industrious spirit. His greatest passion was his family, to whom he showed unwavering devotion. He shared a deep and loving bond with his wife and often expressed how incredibly proud he was of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family, woodworking, fishing, playing golf, and serving his community.

Following his retirement from Philip Morris, Buddy became a committed member of Destination Church. His faith was a source of great strength that he shared generously, with those around him. Despite facing many health challenges, he remained remarkably resilient and steadfast. Though our hearts grieve his loss, we find comfort in knowing he is at peace in the Promise Land with his Savior. His legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.

The family will receive guests on Thursday March 5, 2026 at 11 AM, following will be a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 PM at Destination Church, 5258 Oaklawn Blvd., N. Prince George, VA 23 860.
