Alton G. Westbrook Jr.

Born March 9, 1929, in Jackson, MS, to Alton Gwynn Westbrook and Katherine Smith Westbrook.

After graduating from Central High School and attending Mississippi State University, he joined Westbrook Manufacturing Company, a family-owned business, becoming Vice President of Sales. He later joined H&R Restaurant Supply serving the state and surrounding area until his retirement.

He enjoyed horses and was a member of the Jackson Riding Club and the National Carriage Association. He was a charter member of Madison the City Chamber of Commerce and was a Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Madison. He also served on the Board of The Home Place in Madison. Alton was well known to the community and businesses statewide. He was a friend to all.

He leaves his Wife of 48 years, not long enough, Hilda Blanton Westbrook, Sons, Alton Gwynn (Skipper) Westbrook, lll (Roslyn) of Mandeville, LA, John Owen Westbrook of San Antonio, TX, and Grandson, Dr. Nicolas Allen Westbrook, of Dallas, TX.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents, Sister, Katherine “Cissy” Westbrook Ryan, and Son Stuart Allen Westbrook.

Arrangements by Parkway Funeral Home and Lakewood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, August 8, 5 pm to 7 pm, at Parkway and Monday, August 9, visitation, 9:00 to 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Madison service to follow at 10:00 am.
