

Annielie “Lee” was born in and lived in McComb, MS until she was 9 years of age. Her family then moved to Brookhaven, MS where she lived until 15 years of age. While in Brookhaven she was active in First Baptist Church activities, glee club, and the Lions Club. She was also a pianist for mission churches being developed by First Baptist Church. She had many friends and happy days growing up in Brookhaven, MS.
In 1949 her family moved back to McComb, MS. She quickly became involved in church and school activities. She sang in the choir and played the piano for the church and school she was attending during these years. She was a good student and cheerleader during her junior and senior high school years. She graduated from McComb HS in 1952.
After her graduation from high school she attended USM for her freshman year. She then transferred to MS College (1967 graduate). While at Mississippi College she met and married Ted Crawley. After their marriage they had 4 children while living in Clinton, Arcola, Oak Ridge, LA, Bolton, Canton, Jackson, then back to Clinton over 25 years before retiring at Lake Caroline in Madison, MS.
In the early years of her marriage she taught kindergarten and piano classes. She eventually hired on with World Book Encyclopedia and rose up through the ranks from a successful saleswoman to a multi-state Branch Manager. She won many awards and top honors during her career with World Book. While she was busy with her World Book career, her husband was a school teacher, coach, and school principal prior to his retirement from the Jackson Public School System. Upon her retirement she lived at Lake Caroline with her husband in the home they had built on the lake’s shoreline. While at Lake Caroline she helped start the Ladies of the Lake social club.
Church was a very important part of her life as previously noted and she was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, MS. where she served as a Sunday School teacher and pianist in her classes. Her Lord, church, and family came first in her life. She also enjoyed staying in touch with her many friends and extended family. She was currently a member of Highland Colony Baptist Church in Ridgeland, MS.
Lee is preceded in death by her parents, Hattan and Avanelle Walsh of McComb, MS; her sister Avonne Norman of Laurel, MS; and son-in-law Michael Medlin of Surf City, NC. She is survived by her husband, William T. (Ted) Crawley of Madison, MS (Lake Caroline); children, Ted Crawley Jr. and wife Becky of Madison, MS, Tina Medlin of Fuquay Varina, NC, Karlanne Coates and husband Bill of Clinton, MS, Cary Crawley and wife Tanya of Ridgeland, MS; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 30, 2019 at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS at 3:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 4: p.m. Burial will be held at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
