Austin Edward Elliott was born June 9, 1996, to Tina and Charles Elliott of Madison, Mississippi. He attended Madison Ridgeland Academy and was a proud graduate of the University of Mississippi, majoring in management and minoring in entrepreneurship. He was employed as a Financial Specialist with Mississippi Federal Credit Union, where he thrived on helping members. He passed away on February 23, at home surrounded by the love of his parents.
Austin was passionate.
He was passionate about sports and was a member of numerous teams throughout his athletic career, including basketball, baseball, football, and soccer. He was a talented basketball player, playing on Upward, middle, and high school teams while also spending three years playing Amateur Athletic Union basketball with the MBA Hoops. He loved soccer and was on Madison Ridgeland Academy's first championship team, and was also a part of the Chicago Fire select soccer team for three years. He was an avid fan of Ole Miss and NCAA football and basketball and enjoyed playing fantasy basketball.
Austin was passionate about music and immersed himself in it. He was a self-taught guitarist and enjoyed hours with his acoustic and electric guitars. He loved attending concerts. He attended local events and traveled to regional and national concerts and festivals to watch live performances of hundreds of bands. Among his favorite musical artists were Dead & Company, Pink Floyd, Phish, Widespread Panic, and John Mayer; however, hundreds of artists and groups were represented in the playlists he enjoyed.
But above all, Austin was passionate about people. He never met a stranger and considered countless numbers, not only as friends but best friends. He was loyal, dependable, and had a heart of gold. He loved all people passionately, openly, and without prejudice; his unbelievable smile and hugs welcomed everyone. He had sincere empathy for those less fortunate and never failed to take action to help someone in need.
"Trying to be good to people, grow, and see the world as much as possible. Let the
music free your mind." – Austin Elliott

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Charles Elliott, Sr., and his grandmother, Mrs. Lavada Austin. He is also survived by uncles, aunts, and cousins, who he loved dearly.
