

Visitation will be held from 9:00am 10:00am Wednesday March 11, 2015, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle. Interment will follow at Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland.
She was born In Jackson MS on February 19, 1933 to Sadie Duke Carroll and Cyrus Benjamin Carroll and attended St. Joseph Academy, graduating in 1950 with the distinction of being the school's first Homecoming Queen. In 1951, she married Louis A. Miazza, Jr., who precedes her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents.
As a life-long Roman Catholic, she was a founding and long-time member of St. Richard Catholic Church, the St. Monica Circle and was a communicant of The Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle.
She worked at the then-Catholic Diocese of Natchez-Jackson as Secretary to Monsignor Joseph J. Hannon. For many years, she was employed as a Music Buyer for Wright Music Company, Dugger-Hickman Music Company and Whittington Music, providing sheet music for high school and college bands across Mississippi. She was employed as Legal Secretary for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Mississippi until her retirement in 1998. A gifted pianist and organist, she taught private lessons to many children in the Jackson area.
A charter member of The New Bourbon Street Jazz Society of Jackson, she enjoyed Jazz music, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her quick wit and her devotion to family and friends.
She is survived by daughters, Anne Marie Miazza Boyd and husband, Leslie Boyd of Ridgeland, Catherine Miazza Myers and husband, Jimmy of Richmond, Texas, Amy Miazza Brooks and husband, Ken of Ridgeland; grandchildren, Lesley Anne Boyd Stuart and husband, Jay of Brandon, Matthew Allan Boyd of Ridgeland, and Christopher Dowis Thames and wife, Angie of Richmond, Texas; great-grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Berl of Ridgeland, Marlee Austin Boyd of Ridgeland, Ethan William and Abigail Dianne Thames of Richmond, Texas and Colin Joseph Stuart of Brandon; sisters, Alice Morrison of Fort Walton Beach, Florida and Margaret Barrett-Simon and husband, Al of Jackson; brothers C.B. Carroll, Jr. and wife, Jeanne Luckett of Jackson and James Charles Carroll of Richmond, Virginia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Turner, Ben Cote, Lonnie Kees, Alex Cote, Joseph Bonney,
Eric Bonney, Wyatt Cote, and Nigel Turner. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jamie Ervin.
The family wished to thanks Dr. David Sullivan for his many years of care and friendship, Sta-Home Hospice and the staff of Ridgeland Pointe Assisted Living.
