Jean was born on September 23, 1935 in Tylertown, MS where she lived her childhood with her brother Everette Boyd, her sister Racine Boyd Magee and parents Gracie and Talmadge Boyd. She enjoyed her years in Walthall County where she was a star basketball player.
During her teenage years, she met Billy Brumfield. After their marriage, they moved to Jackson and raised their 3 children, and she made her most precious lifelong friends from West Jackson Baptist Church who remained by her side until her last day.
A few years after the death of Billy, she married Wendell Alford and moved to McComb for many years. After retirement, they relocated to Madison and became members of First Baptist Madison. It was there she met another special group of new friends and reunited with old friends.
Her life was lived for her children and her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to spoil them all, and they loved the special attention. She was always their biggest fan for every activity. She built many of her fondest memories while vacationing with them. Everyone could depend on Jean to pray for them daily and in all special circumstances.
