Brian was born on August 5, 1959 to Sam and Joyce Barcellona in New Orleans, Louisiana. He and his family later moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana at age three and Jackson, Mississippi at age nine. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School, Class of 1977. He received his undergraduate degree from Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi in Business Administration. Brian met his wife, Charlotte Marie Hampton, while visiting LSU, and the two were married on August 14, 1982 in Baton Rouge. They were happily married for 37 years.
Brian and Charlotte made a home in Ridgeland, Mississippi, where he served as Alderman from 1989-1996. He began working in the pharmaceutical industry, with a 25-year career as a pharmaceutical representative at Pan American Laboratories. He started his own pharmaceutical company, Capris Pharma, in 2016, and he was tireless in his devotion to its growth and success. His mission in Capris is rooted in his Christian faith. He wanted to treat all people fairly and honestly and make quality healthcare accessible to everyone.
Brian was a devout parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle in Jackson for the past 30 years. His faithfulness in attending mass regularly set an example for his daughters, Victoria and Olivia. One of his great joys in life was walking his daughters down the aisle for their weddings in St. Peter’s.
Brian had a multitude of hobbies, and he especially loved sailing. He was a member of the Jackson Yacht Club, where he competed in regattas and enjoyed sailing with his family and friends. He also was skilled in baseball in high school as well as college. Brian loved coaching his daughters’ soccer and softball teams. He loved watching his girls play soccer, and he never missed one of their games. Brian loved SEC sports, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He also loved music and could play the bass. He looked forward to annual family trips to Sandestin, FL. Most of all, Brian was happiest when he was at home with his wife, girls, and English Bulldog while laughing and spending time together.
Brian is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Valentino Edward Hampton, and mother-in-law, Doris Jarreau Hampton. His survivors include his wife Charlotte Hampton Barcellona, daughters Victoria Barcellona Wilcher and Olivia Barcellona Fox, sons-in-law Wallace Bradley Wilcher and Joseph Henderson Fox, parents Sam Salvador Barcellona and Betty Joyce Taylor Barcellona, and siblings Bruce Barcellona, Bonnie Barcellona Ballard, and Becki Barcellona Connally. He was looking forward to the arrival of his first grandchild in June, Caroline Marie Fox.
We will truly miss his enthusiastic drive, silly laughter, gracious leadership, lifelong courage, devotion to family, generous spirit, commitment to faith, and love for his and our Savior Jesus Christ.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7
