Bubba, born April 8, 1955, in Memphis, TN, was the second child and first son to the late Cartlon Wakefield, Sr. and Joan Jones. He attended the University of Memphis where he participated in varsity track and field on scholarship. He was a lifelong Tigers fan.
He is preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Walter Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rhonda Wakefield; his two sons and their wives, Richard (Lana) and Colby (Caitlyn) Wakefield; his 5 grandchildren, Rachel, McClain, Ruth, Madeline and Stephen; and his siblings, Cheryl Phillips, Mark Wakefield, and Ricky Wakefield.
Pallbearers are Justin Wakefield, Jordan Wakefield, Taylor Wakefield, Chris Phillips, Tommy Hicks, and Matthew Parker.
