

Carolyn Milton Garner, 76, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 13, 2011. Visitation services will be held today, Sunday, January 16, 2011 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Broadmoor Baptist Church Chapel preceded by visitation at 9:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Trinity Mausoleum in Parkway MemoriaL Cemetery.
Carolyn was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, history and loved to travel, but enjoyed the Mississippi Coast the most, especially dining at Mary Mahoney’s. Carolyn was head majorette of the High Steppers at Hinds Jr. College in Raymond. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church for over 50 years where she participated in numerous activities. As much as she loved life, Carolyn always put God and her family first. She cherished each and every one of her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Virginia Milton of Morton.
Survivors include, her husband, James Edwin Garner, Sr. of Ridgeland; son, James Edwin Garner, Jr. (Paula) of Ridgeland; two daughters, Patrice Garner Blackmon (Dolphus) of Ridgeland and Joanne Garner Ford of Stockton, CA; one brother, Jimmy Milton (Rowan) of Natchez; and grandchildren, Ashley Garner, Molly Ford, Mary Ford, Britton Blackmon, Karson Luther, Kelly Williams, Erin Williams and Jay Ford.
