

Charlotte Jane Colvin, age 91, of Ridgeland, MS died Sunday, March 19, at MS Baptist Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born May 30, 1925 to Clarence Lester Simon and Anna Riley Simon in Chillicothe, Ohio. She graduated in 1943 from Berea High School in Berea, Ohio.
On February 25, 1945 Jane married Thurman Jackson Colvin. After living in GA and in MN, they moved in 1965 with their three children to Jackson, MS. She was active at Colonial Heights Baptist Church where she attended Explorer Bible Study, was secretary for the intercessory prayer ministry and taught 8th grade girls Sunday School for many years. She also served at First Baptist Church Jackson in Sunday School and WMU.
Jane was a member of The Heritage Club which met at the Country Club of Jackson and the Knife and Fork Club.
She lived, the last 14 years, at The Orchard in Ridgeland, where she loved leading chair exercise and participating in Bible Study and the church services.
Jane was known by all for her joy and friendliness. She loved the Lord and her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Jack, her parents, and her sister Anna Viola Bolander.
She is survived by her three children, Clark T. Colvin (Tommie), Wendy C. Stewart (Charles), Debbie C. Peeples (Sam). Grandchildren, Lori C. Sanders (Rhett), T.J. Colvin (Rachel), Michelle B. Justus (Stafford), Will Stewart (Michelle), Dr. Jonathan Peeples, Dr. Emilee P. Milling (Matthew), Dr. S. Jefferson Peeples (Anna), and James Peeples. Great grandchildren, Lily Sanders, JB Colvin, Jackson and Shelby Justus, Zeke Stewart, and Julia Milling. Other survivors include sister, Pat S. McGraw and niece, Diann Bolander.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 21, from 5:00-7:00pm and funeral Wednesday, March 22, at 1:00pm, with visitation from 12:00-1:00pm. All held at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Pkwy, Ridgeland, MS.
