Charlotte Jean Dickinson, known by those closest to her as Nana, peacefully passed away at the age of 81 on June 13, 2025. Her life was filled with devotion, determination, and love for her family and friends.
Charlotte married her high school sweetheart, Don Dickinson, when she was just 18, and the two were inseparable for 53 years. Together, they ran Dickinson Auto Parts and Central Body Shop, but it was her role as a mother to their two daughters—and Nana to five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren—that she treasured most. She poured herself into those roles with everything she had.
For the past 22 years, Charlotte made her home at Lake Caroline, where she found community and countless friendships. For years, she was the beating heart of the “Ladies of the Lake,” and was known for organizing gatherings, delivering her famous cakes, and holding her own in a card game of Hands and Feet. Mornings were often spent meticulously caring for her yard, and neighbors would frequently find her there riding her zero-turn mower. Afternoons often found her cruising around the neighborhood in her golf cart, always with her dog Bebe by her side. If there was a curb alert to be found, she and Bebe would find it and play matchmaker, delivering the items to the perfect person who could use them.
Charlotte is survived by her daughters, Stacie Wells (Kevin) of Evans, GA, and Debbie Adams; her grandchildren, KC Adams, Chance Adams, Joshua Jones, Connor Wells, and Margaret Wells; and her great-grandchildren, Brixxton Adams, Brody Adams, and Campbell Wells. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Bebe, who may still be waiting for golf cart rides. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, whose love story with Charlotte is one that will continue to inspire all who knew them.
Those who loved Charlotte take great comfort in knowing that she is now whole and at peace in the presence of Jesus. Nana and Gran are together again.
