Born in Scott County, MS, Charlotte graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1958. She married the love of her life, Clyde Hiram Walters, also of Scott County, enjoying 52 years of marriage before his passing in 2010. Throughout their life together, Charlotte provided unwavering support as Hiram advanced his career with Entergy, relocating with him to Belzoni, Greenville, Grenada, and Clinton MS, and later to Little Rock, AR and Monroe, LA, always creating loving homes for their three daughters.
A devoted homemaker, Charlotte was deeply involved in her church community and cherished time spent with friends and family. She was known for her exceptional baking skills, delighting family and friends with her homemade bread, delicious cakes and pies. Her warm personality and generous spirit touched the lives of many.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Hiram Walters; her parents, Ralph Everett Dry and Trudy Dry; and her siblings, Sarah Dry Jones, Terrell Dry, and Ricky Dry.
She is survived by her loving daughters: Dianna Walters Garrick (Danny) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Vickie Walters Driskell (Glenn) of Brookhaven, MS; and Elizabeth Walters Ray of Madison, MS; as well as her cherished grandchildren: Allen Holobaugh, Hannah Butts, Caroline Harrison, Alford Driskell, and Hayden Ray and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Hilda Jo Woods; and brothers-in-law, Kermit Walters and Kenneth Walters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice, Private Care Givers Group and the staff at St. Catherine’s for their excellent care in her last days.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home, Madison, MS. A private graveside service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hope Lodge in Jackson, MS.
