Cherie Maloney died unexpectedly at home on January 23. She was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on May12, 1950 to Aud and Bud Kopplin. Cherie attended school in Eau Claire and St. Joseph Catholic School in Jackson. She also graduated from nursing school in Atlanta.
She and her devoted husband, Michael Maloney, just celebrated their fifty -first wedding anniversary. And together they had two sons, Michael and Sean, and five grandchildren.
Cherie lived a very eventful life and will be missed dearly. Her career encompassed many facets within the health community, including pediatric care, home health, diabetic educator, and wellness coach. Her latest venture was opening a new business, Hart Health Consulting, while in her late sixties designed to promote a healthy lifestyle. She had a passion for helping people and always in a non-judgmental fashion. She often purchased necessities on her own for the truly medically underserved of the Jackson community.
Cherie loved to entertain and the Maloney house was so many times the gathering point for both family and numerous friends. She was the ultimate host always with great food, her signature margaritas, and lots of laughter. She was best known for her homemade bread that was baked year round and given as gifts to anyone and everyone.
Her children, grandchildren and family were her true passion. They absolutely adored her and cherished their time together. Her family has many wonderful memories of trips across the United States and Europe with Cherie and Mike. Also held dear, are the memories of holidays and family gatherings. Cherie had a talent for decorating and spared no expense, especially at Christmas. Her house was a Winter Wonderland, all with anticipation for the grandkids to experience and enjoy.
Cherie will best be remembered as the wife, mother, grandmother, sister and family member that put everyone else first. Her giant heart always ensured every person and every detail was taken care of before herself. The world will always seem a little emptier without her larger than life personality.
