
Clarence Hugh “Buck” Gregory died on January 6, 2013, at St. Catherine’s Village, Madison, Mississippi. Visitation will be Friday, January 11, 2013, from 1PM-2PM at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland with a graveside service at 2:30PM at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Gregory was born on March 26, 1923, in Harriston, Jefferson County, Mississippi. He graduated from Central High School in Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Gregory served in the Army during World War II in Italy. He graduated from Millsaps College, Jackson, Mississippi, where he was an active member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, Alpha Upsilon Chapter.
Mr. Gregory resided in Clinton, Mississippi, where he was a member of First Baptist Church-Clinton and a past secretary of the Spell-McPhail Sunday School Class. He was employed by Marquette Cement in Jackson, Mississippi, and the Mississippi Employment Security Commission from which he retired in 1986. Mr. Gregory was an avid bridge player, gardener and was best known for his beautiful roses.
Mr. Gregory was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Elizabeth Gregory; sisters, Myrtle Gregory and Carolyn Gregory Smith, and a brother, Jeff Gregory. Survivors include nephew, Jeff Gregory, Jr., Pensacola, Florida; niece, Elizabeth Gregory Rhodes (Paul), Orlando, Florida; great nephew, Christopher Adam Gregory, San Antonio, Texas; great nieces, Amy Elizabeth Jowers (Jeremy) and Ashley Diane Creeden (Kyle), Orlando, Florida and sister-in-law, Norma Gregory, Long Beach, Mississippi.
