Cullen was born on December 18, 1920 and grew up in Mars, Hill Mississippi, in Amite County. After graduating high school, he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Using the skills that he learned while serving in the Air Corps, he went on to become an Air Traffic Controller with the FAA, where he retired in 1978.
On June 23, 1946, Cullen married the love of his life, Sarah, and together they raised their family in Jackson, MS. Cullen and Sarah were active participants in Broadmoor Baptist Church, where he has been a member since 1961.
Cullen was known for being a relatively quiet man, but he loved his family and was very proud of their accomplishments. Up until his final years, he was incredibly active and enjoyed being outside and working in the yard. He had a very strict walking routine and was well known by all of his neighbors as the, “cute old man in the hat.”
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sarah, and son, Bill, as well as a brother and two sisters.
Mr. Reeves is survived by his son, Gene, and his wife Pam of Madison. He is also survived by two grandsons, Len and his wife Meg of Oxford, and Bill and his wife, Abbey of Madison. He also leaves behind two great grandsons, William and Nathan.
