Debi Wiseman Amzal passed away Monday, December 23, 2024 in the comfort of her home in Ridgeland, MS. She is survived by her daughter Helen Oliver and son-in-law Nishok Chetty (of Los Angeles, CA), older brother Dave Wiseman (of Casper, WY), and loving parents Jim and Connie Wiseman (of Madison, MS).
Born in Hattiesburg, MS on September 9,1967, Debi’s life came to an end just 100 miles from where it began. However, in the all-too-short 57 years she was on this earth she lived all over the country and visited far stretches of the world, as a fiercely independent and adventurous traveler. Everywhere she lived or visited she spread a vibrant spirit, palpable joy, curiosity of culture, and care for others.
Her strength of independence was matched only by her desire and ability to love and care for others, from close family and friends to complete strangers her love knew no bounds. She had the soul of an artist and empath - seeking to understand, connect with, and help all those around her. Her creative and empathetic nature shaped her academic pursuits and earned her an Associates of Arts in Fine Arts & Psychology from Casper College (Casper, WY) and a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral & Social Sciences from East West University (Chicago, IL). Professionally her experiences spanned across art curation and collections, real estate appraisal, and social work and mental health care.
Debi was a strong and loving woman, raised by strong and loving parents, and in turn raised her own daughter to follow this tradition. As many lives are, hers was not without pain or struggle, but she stood out amongst the rest of us in the resilience of her enduring love. She will forever be in our hearts and minds, reminding us all how to love with one’s full self.
A visitation for Deborah will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Madison Methodist Church, 100 Post Oak Road, Madison, Mississippi 39110, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
