Ditto Craig Scruggs

Ditto Craig Scruggs passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in Jackson, Mississippi at the age of 91. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Parkway Funeral Home at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour prior.

Ditto was born in Greenwood, Mississippi to Leonard Scruggs and Lena Belle Lary Scruggs on August 12, 1929. He graduated from Greenwood high school. On December 23, 1954, he married Deloris Williams. They were married for almost 59 years until her passing in 2013.

Ditto worked as a salesman of automobiles and road machinery, and he was an avid quail hunter and award winning trainer of field dogs. He also enjoyed horseback riding and loved golf. He was a member of Shady Oaks Country Club for many years, where he even hit a hole in one. In his later years, Ditto was a fan of western films and reading, even keeping a log of the books he had finished.

Ditto is preceded in death by his wife, Deloris Williams Scruggs and his parents, Leonard Scruggs and Lena Belle Lary Scruggs.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Hitt and husband Dwight of Jackson, Mississippi; granddaughter, Erica Butler of Brandon, Mississippi; brother, David Scruggs of Tennessee; and sister, Joy Wellman of Georgia.

Mr. Ditto sold me a truck in 1989, and I have remembered him ever since. He was a nice guy (and a good salesman). My condolences.

Susan,
So sorry about your dad, know ya'll will miss him. Hadn't seem him in a long time , but did have a good long visit on the phone with him shortly after your mother died. We must have talked for 30 minutes and had some good laughs about old times and a few tears. It gave us a chance to catch up on too many years without a visit. My sincere condolences to you and your family.
