Dorothy G. Stewart (Sanders), 82, of Ridgeland (formerly of Biloxi), passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, Garvis Stewart. She is survived by two daughters, Cappi Leonard (Dave) of Allen, TX and Debbie Aldrich (Russ) of Madison, MS; four grandchildren, Kellie Huff (Tony), Leslie White (Matt), Lindsay Aldrich and Jordan Aldrich Jones (Brad); three great-grandchildren, TJ Huff, Haylie White and Emory White; siblings Bobbie Jean Hosey (George), Harry Sanders (Linda); sister-in-law Pat Skellie (Billy) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stewart was employed by the Federal Government as a Medical Transcriptionist at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS, the Birmingham, AL Veterans Administration Hospital and the Gulfport, MS Veterans Administration Hospital before retiring.
Golf and tennis were a large part of her life. She was an avid Duplicate Bridge player. She and her partner, Dottie Cole, played 3-4 times a week at the Jackson Bridge Association Clubhouse. She played up until her passing. Everyone around her loved her for her "never give-up" attitude.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 22 and be followed by a service at 12:00 at Parkway Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland.
