Effie Lee Daley entered the loving arms of her Lord Jesus Christ on October 6, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Effie was born on 10/13/1932 to William (Bill) Jackson Garrett and Sarah Pitts Garrett in Flora, Mississippi. She worked as a bookkeeper for McRae’s Department Store in the 1950’s. She married Charles L. Daley in 1954 and later worked at his side in the family business, Capitol Barber and Beauty Supply Company in Jackson. Effie is predeceased by her husband, Charles, parents William and Sarah Garrett, sisters Iva Lancaster, Lucille Moody, and Billie Sue Cupples, and brothers Wesley Garrett and Lesley Garrett. Effie is survived by sons Dr. Charles L. Daley (Madeline) of Denver, Colorado, and Dr. William P. Daley of Madison, Mississippi, sister Laura Duran, granddaughter Sofia Daley, and many nieces and nephews. Effie will be missed greatly and loved forever.
The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm Friday October 7, 2016 and from 12 Noon until 1:00pm Saturday October 8, 2016 at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park.
