Ella May attended the University of Mississippi where she was the featured twirler for the Ole Miss Band. After leaving the University, she taught baton and dance with her sister Jo Anne Day and remained close to many of her students. She obtained her real estate and broker’s license and owned and operated East and Associates Real Estate company.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Livingston (“Al”) East, III, her brother Jo Jeff Fulmer and her parents, Jeff and Ella Fulmer. Ella May and Al were very active in the community and were involved in many organizations including the American Heart Association and the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra. Ella May served on the board of the Friends of the Library as well as St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. Ella May was very supportive of her husband and his business, East Ford, Inc..
Ella May is survived by her children, Dr. Honey East and Brenda Bethany and her husband, Jack Bethany all of Jackson. She is also survived by her beloved grand-children Jaclyn Bethany, Honey Holman, Ella Bennett, and Jay Bennett. She and her sister, Jo Anne Day, who also survives her, remained close throughout her life.
Ella May was a long-time communicant of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral. Due to pandemic restrictions, a family graveside service will be held in celebration of her life. If desired, the family requests memorials to St. Andrew’s Cathedral or St. Andrew’s Episcopal school in lieu of flowers.
