Eloise McEachern Turbeville passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22, 2026. She was born on April 11, 1936, in Vaiden, Mississippi, to Bob and Mattie Hatcher McEachern. Eloise graduated from Vaiden High School and Holmes Junior College and later retired as an Executive Secretary with the Mississippi Public Employees’ Retirement System after more than 30 years of state service.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 44 years, Milton Turbeville. Eloise is survived by her children: David Turbeville of Dallas, TX (daughter Emily), John Turbeville of Jackson, and Susan Erickson (Steve) of Madison (daughter Ashley and son Andrew); her sister, Helen Claire Elliott of Vaiden; and her brother, Bob McEachern of Vaiden.
A faithful member of Providence Presbyterian Church in Clinton, Eloise loved the Lord, her church family, and participating in her ladies’ group, Circle 1. She enjoyed cooking for church events, family and friends, and line dancing at Clinton Parks and Recreation. Eloise loved her family dearly and was always quick to offer words of encouragement and support. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, with burial at Hopewell Cemetery in Vaiden. Memorials may be made to Providence Presbyterian Church or Hopewell Cemetery Association , 29 CR 30, Vaiden, MS 39176.
