Born July 16, 1925, she moved to Jackson and graduated from Central High School in 1943. She spent two years at Belhaven College and then graduated from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Returning to Jackson, she spent several years at WSLI before settling in New Orleans where she worked for WDSU for many years. She returned to Jackson and worked at WJTV before taking early retirement and had numerous part time jobs including the Museum of Art and Eudora Welty Library, as well as doing much volunteer work. She was also a lay reader for St. James Church for several years.
She is survived by her sister, Doris Allen of Jackson.
Services will be held at St. James Episcopal Church on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00 am, with visitation held prior starting at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
