Eugenia “Gene” Jones White, 91, died Friday Feb. 14, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2:30pm Monday from the Chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00pm till 6:00pm and Monday from 1:30pm till 2:30pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. White was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was a former Chancery Clerk of Franklin County for three terms. She worked at the State Attorney General Office and was Who’s Who in 1976 among the American Business Women. She loved golf, playing bridge, ballroom dancing and a worldwide traveler, having gone to London on the Concorde.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ross B. White and Marvin H. Jones, and granddaughter Karis Eugenia Thornton.
Survivors include her daughter, Virgie Breazeale (Paul), Jackson, MS , one grandson, Ryan B. Montgomery, Jackson, MS., two great grandsons, Brendon & Noah Montgomery, one brother, Owen William “Buddy” Byrd, Clinton, MS one niece and two nephews.
