

Fannie Lee McCann of Jackson died on June 23, 2017. She was born in Moselle, MS, on December 9, 1918, to Sloan and Sally Haigler Stringer. As a child she attended Shady Grove Baptist Church in Moselle, where she began playing the piano at an early age.
Fannie Lee was a graduate of Laurel (MS) high School and Jones County Junior College. For many years she was co-owner, along with her husband, Edwin B. Stevens, of Stringer Brothers Nursery in Jackson, MS. During those years she and Edwin were active members of First Baptist Church in Jackson.
Fannie Lee is survived by her daughter, Barbara Stevens Price (Milburn), of Vestavia, Al; her son, Larry Stevens (Jerri), of Crystal Springs, MS; a grandson, Rev. Steven Price (Rev. Catherine), of Gainesville, FL; another grandson, Brad Stevens (Christy), of Madison, MS; a granddaughter, Angie Robinson (Chad), of Florence, MS; great-grandchildren Shelby and Sidney Price, Victoria, Dalton, and Olivia Stevens, and Austin and Brooklyn Robinson; and a sister, Therese Garbo, who lives on the Mississippi gulf coast. She was pre-deceased by three husbands, Edwin Stevens, James Wascom, and James McCann; brothers Floyd, P.M., Sam, and Herman Stringer; and sisters Mabry Crosby, Etha Lowe, Beulah Johnson, and Helen Clinton.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 26, at 2:00 pm at Parkway Funeral Home in Ridgeland, with visitation starting at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
