Gary Wayne Langham, 39, Madison, MS was born on June 12, 1974 in Panola County, MS. With strength of a hundred men Gary battled cancer for the past year. On Friday, May 30, 2014 at 7:05am he made his final march from the battlegrounds into the fields of heaven.
Gary taught himself to play the guitar at an early age and enjoyed playing in several local bands throughout the years. He, like his father James, dreamed of one day making it big; on Friday he joined a lucky band of angels where he is at this very moment playing his guitar.
On the day Gary’s son Tyler graduated from high school Gary wrote “Thank you son for always being such a respectable man,” he was so proud of him that day and all others too. Gary knew about respectability because he himself lived his life that way.
Gary was a newlywed having married Kirby Smith on November 30, 2013. Kirby taught him the finer points of golf and like everything Gary involved himself in, he played with heart and passion. Kirby and Gary also enjoyed creating new and exciting brews of beer. Gary’s method was to study everything ever written about the art of brewing and then improve upon it. Though he considered himself a Brew Master he was really a home brewer. He always had a sense of humor about those arrangements of words.
Gary was always ahead of the curve when it came to technology so it was no surprise he became a Sales Executive for Comcast. Attending night school for years he received his Associates degree in Computer Science from Holmes Community College in Ridgeland, MS.
Gary was rich in family and friends; he remains so very loved. His large family of cousins gave him a huge sense of family and provided a lifetime of happy memories, a few wild ones too.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, James E. Langham and grandparents Kathy and Vernon Seals. He is survived by his wife Kirby Smith Langham of Jackson, MS, mother Debbie Seals Langham of Madison, son Tyler Langham of Ridgeland, sister Pam Walker of Braxton, brother Jimmy Langham of Palm Springs, CA, sister Donna Hays of Brandon, nephew Christopher Hays of Phoenix, AZ, nephew Donovan Hays of Mount Olive, MS, two great-nephews, uncle Randy Seals and first cousins Neely Nations and Corey Seals. He is also leaves behind a host of cousins which he remained very close to all his life.
Visitation for Gary will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland from 12:00pm to 2:00pm with a Service following at 2:00pm. Burial will be held on Monday at 10:00am at Jessamine Cemetery.
