Gary Stephen Smith

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday April, 15, 2013 from the Ridgeland Chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday April 14, 2013 between the hours of 5 and 7 PM and after 12 Noon on Monday. Interment will follow the service in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.

Gary was born in Roanoke, VA on June 17, 1950. He attended Mississippi College where he studied music and ultimately graduated with a Master’s of Music Degree. Gary was an accomplished classical guitarist and was well known for his performing and teaching skills. Gary also served as a minister of music in several churches throughout the Jackson area. After a successful music career he formed Gary Smith Real Estate which became the largest independently owned and operated real estate company in Mississippi. He also created a real estate television program called, The Real Estate Network, which aired for 15 years throughout central MS and was the first of it’s kind in the state. In 2008 his company merged with Century 21 Maselle and Assoc. where he later became the Director of Recruiting and Training.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Larry and Teresa Smith of Roanoke, VA. He is survived by his brother Larry Smith of Roanoke, VA, and his children Kimberly Michelle Smith Yarborough (Matt and children) of Asheville, NC and Cameron Stephen Smith of Seattle, WA.
