

Gina Jolie (Gigi) Payne one of God's most precious and faithful angels was called home to be with Him on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. She died at Mississippi Medical Center in the arms of her loving mother, Paula Payne.
She also leaves behind her father, Jim Payne of Jackson, her sister, April Nall (Kevin) of Jackson, two nieces, Caroline and Cate Nall, a nephew, Will Nall and her brother, Jonathan Payne (America) and his son, Austin of Scottsdale, Az. She will also be missed by her uncle, Larry Payne (Liz) of Hattiesburg. Gina is also survived by her stepfather, Cal Adams of Madison.
Gina was born February 20, 1970 in Monroe, La. She graduated from Woodland Hills Academy in Jackson, Hinds Community College in Raymond and William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. After graduation she became a child-life assistant, counceling and working with children at the Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital at UMC. She was a member of the Mississippi Cancer Socity and the Jackson Junior League. She was named as one of Mississippi's Strong Women in a ceremony hosted by the Baptist Medical Center.
But most of all, Gina was a Christian and a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church of Jackson. Her love of, and her faith in God enabled her to earn the admiration and respect of everyone who came to know her. Her faith and her life lifted and inspired family, friends and hundreds of children who only knew her as the one who helped them in some of their darkest hours.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 15 at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland. Visitation will precede the service from 9:00 to 10:30 am. Gina will be buried near her beloved grandparents, G.B. and Atrelle (Gran and Friend) Hopson in the Delhi Cemetary in Delhi, La.
The family requests any remembrance of Gina be made in he form of a gift to the First Presbyterian Church in Delhi or to the Mississippi Cancer Socity.
