

Harold Carter Brumfield, Sr. born on October 24, 1927 in Amite, Louisiana passed away on Saturday October 10, 2015 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS.
Son of the late Hardy Sanders and Carrie Carter Brumfield, he grew up in Ocean Springs, MS and Hammond, Louisiana. He graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1950. He began his career in architecture in Jackson, MS working with several local firms before partnering with James E. Lee establishing Lee and Brumfield, Ltd., later incorporated as Brumfield, Hopton & Brumfield, PA. He practiced architecture on numerous projects including manufacturing plants, church facilities, office buildings, schools, and hotels throughout the state of Mississippi.
Harold wed Edwina O’Brien from Raymond, MS on December 2, 1951. He was a long standing member of Broadmoor Baptist Church where he was a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed golfing with friends and was devoted family man. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Horton. He is survived by his wife Edwina, son Hal (Jeannie), daughters Lynn Brumfield, Susan Thompson (John) Jean Brumfield and Ann Herberger, grandchildren, Audra, Jack Walton, Ellen, David and Travis and great- grandchildren Tyler and Alex Brumfield.
Services will be held at the chapel at Broadmoor Baptist Church on October 14, 2015 with visitation at 11 am until 1pm and the service at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Palestine Cemetery in Raymond, MS.
