
Funeral services will be held 10:00am Thursday January 9, 2014 from the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00pm till 7:00pm and Thursday from 9:00am till service time. Graveside services will be held 3:00pm in the New Hope Methodist church Cemetery, Dekalb, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Bloodworth, Sr., her parents Battie and Fred Gully, her brothers Robert, Fred and Raymond Gully and her sister, Frances Gully.
Hazel was born and grew up in Kemper County, MS. and attended East Mississippi Junior College in Scooba. After graduation she moved to Jackson where she worked for the state of Mississippi most of her adult working life. After taking time to raise her children she resumed work with the state, primarily as an executive secretary and administrative assistant in various divisions of the Department of Mental Health.
She was a devoted wife and mother and was greatly loved in return. She was known for her generous and kind heart, her love for family and friends and her wonderful sense of humor. The Lord and her church family were central to her life. She was a faithful member of North Park Presbyterian church which she attended for over 50 years, from the founding year.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Liz) Bloodworth Trump (Ken), her son, Robert (Bob) Bloodworth, Jr. (Mary), her sister Louise Gully Patterson, her brother, Herman (Doc) Gully, her grandson Ryan Lee, Tripp Bloodworth, her grand-daughter Olivia Bloodworth and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the love, friendship and excellent care shown to Hazel in the last few years of her life by Deloris Michael and her family members, the staff of Brandon Court Nursing Home and her close, dear friends.
