Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband of 69 years, Martin Joseph Reilly, and her son, Donald James Reilly. Helen was born to Carlos and Helen (Crum) South on October 19, 1922, in Ooltewah, TN. She met Martin while working in Oakridge, Tennessee. Helen’s interests included bird watching, gardening, crafting and entertaining family and friends.
Helen is survived by her son, David (Jan) and their children, Laura and Will, of Canton, MS; her granddaughter, Bess Reilly Holder (Dylan) of Starkville, MS. Bess is the daughter of the late Donald Reilly and Elizabeth Kean (Steve); her cousin, Wenonah (Tressley) Geren of Chattanooga, TN; her cousin, Joyce Lawson; her nephews, Ed (Kay) Sordillo of Chicopee, MA, and Bill (Jackie) Sordillo of Belchertown, MA, and their respective families.
A graveside service will be held celebrating Helen’s life and honoring her legacy on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Parkway Memorial Cemetery (formerly Wright & Ferguson), 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS. The Reverend Robert Lane of First Presbyterian Church of Madison, MS, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Madison or the charity of your choosing.
Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather for fellowship at the home of Jan Reilly’s mother, Pat Skinner. Please contact a family member for the address.
