

Ida Fuller Cummings, 86, died August 17, 2012. She was born January 8, 1926 in Monticello, MS. After graduating from Monticello High School as Valedictorian she met and married the love of her life, James L. Cummings Jr.
For the first eleven years of her married life, they lived in Bossier City, LA. In 1959 they moved to Jackson, where Jim was a Petroleum Geologist and Ida was a full time homemaker.
Mrs. Cummings was a member of First Presbyterian of Jackson for over fifty years. She loved her Church dearly. Her neighborhood and monthly coffees through the years were a great source of pleasure also. Ida was a wonderful bridge player and became a life master. She belonged to a variety of clubs, serving as president of many of them. Some of her favorites were: Petrol, Las Camaradas, Le Mercred, The Toofer Club, Continental, and 21 Club.
Ida was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly by all.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James L. Cummings; daughters Helaine Maley (Thomas) and Karen Burwell( John); grandsons Brad Maley(Olivia), Collin Maley(Stephanie), Cameron Burwell, Taylor Burwell(Robin); 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Lorene Marrero, Ginger Johnson( Tommy), Charles Fuller (Merlanie) and a host of nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank her special friends, Mittie Egerson, Linda Alexander, and Lula Hairston.
Visitation will be Monday, August 20, 2012, between 9:30am and 11:30am, with a service to follow. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
