

Bob Westerfield, 74, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at home in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM followed by funeral services in the Chapel of Wright and Ferguson in Ridgeland.
Bob was born in Shreveport, LA and moved to Jackson at a young age. As a scout, Bob received the Honor Medal from the National Court of Honor of the Boy Scouts of America. He attended Jackson Public Schools graduating from Central High School, Class of 1957 where he lettered in track and football. He was also a graduate of Mississippi College. He served in the Mississippi National Guard. Bob retired from Binswanger Glass Company where he was contract manager for a number of years. An avid sportsman, Bob enjoyed hunting and fishing to the fullest. He cherished time in the peace and quiet of the woods and on the lakes with his buddies. Over the years he was a member of several hunting clubs and was actively involved in wildlife organizations. He was a charter member of the Jackson Bass club and an enthusiastic participant in tournaments and gaming competitions where he achieved many titles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Gertrude Westerfield. He is survived by his wife, Judy Westerfield, of Brandon; sister, Eliza Westerfield, of Florence, MS; brother, David Westerfield (Cheryl), of Fuquay Varina, NC; and his very special great-nephews, Kenny Strong of San Antonio, TX and Michael Strong of Oklahoma City, OK.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a wildlife conservation organization or a favorite charity.
