James Gunter (Jimmy) Cheatham, Sr., died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at his home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 pm on Monday, June 17, 2013, followed by a graveside service at 6:30 pm all at Wright and Ferguson in Ridgeland.
Jimmy, born April 1, 1946 in Jackson, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Cheatham, Jr. He graduated from Murrah High School in 1964 and graduated with a B.S. degree in animal husbandry from Mississippi State University 1969. His career was pharmaceutical and medical sales. Jimmy’s favorite pastimes were playing guitar and spending time with family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert E. Cheatham, III. He is survived by his wife, Diane Sanders Cheatham of Madison; two daughters, Anna Cheatham Morgan and her husband Rick of Tupelo; and Heidi Cheatham of Clinton; one son, Gunter Cheatham and his wife Shellie of Ridgeland; four grandchildren.
