James "Jimmy" Gordon Goodwill, Jr., 71, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014. A Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at St Phillip's Episcopal Church, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00am.
Jimmy was born Feb. 12, 1943 to James, Sr. and Etoile Goodwill in Jackson, MS. He graduated from Murrah High School in 1962 and continued his education at Mississippi College, where he met the love of his life, Sandra Conerly. He received Bachelor's Degree in Physics in 1966, and the following year Jimmy and Sandra were married.
Jimmy began his career at Delta Exploration, and in the 1970s he began working for Digicon. In 1986, Jimmy went into business for himself and opened Jim Goodwill, Consulting Geophysicist, from which he retired in 2000.
In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed fishing, boating, and building and flying RC planes.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Goodwill; sons, James Gordon (Christy) Goodwill, III and Grayson (Shannon) Goodwill; granddaughters, Abby, Emma, and Andi Grace Goodwill; grandson, Liem Goodwill; sister, Edith Ward; and nephew, Ben Ward.
