

Jane Cleland O'Mara, 63, died June 4, 2011, at St. Catherine's Village. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7, 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Wright and Ferguson in Ridgeland, with a graveside service immediately following visitation.
Jane was born on December 167, 1947 in Jacksonville, Texas, and was a native of Jackson, Mississippi. She graduated with many honors from Murrah High School in 1966 and Vanderbilt University in 1970 where she was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority. She studied at Johns Hopkins University where she obtained a Master of Art History and a Master of Art and Literature. While at Johns Hopkins she taught undergraduate courses in art and art history. In 1996 Jane received her Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law. She practiced law in Jackson and Vicksburg until her retirement. Jane enjoyed fine art and antiques and traveled extensively with her daughter and friends.
She is survived by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Howard J. Cleland of Brandon; daughter, Kate O'Mara Chandler and her husband Martin and granddaughter, Riley Jane Chandler all of Silver Spring, Maryland; sister, Beth Cleland Harper and her husband Eddie of DeBary, Florida; brothers Dr. William H. Cleland and his wife Gyanne of Brandon, C. David Cleland and his wife Rebecca of Madison; and several nieces and nephews.
Jane's family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the love and care Jane received while at Campbell Cove and Sienna 2 at St. Catherine's Village.
