
Jimmy Howard Wells, 80 of Ridgeland, MS. passed away on Friday July 5th. Visitation will be Sunday July 7th 3-5pm and Monday July 8th 10-11am. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11am. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Wright & Ferguson on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland, MS. Jimmy was born October 18, 1932 in D’Lo, Mississippi. He moved to Jackson as a child and attended Central High School where he became known as one of the best pitchers to ever play at Central.
After graduating he joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. After leaving the Army he joined the Jackson Police Department where he served proudly for 20 years. While with JPD he became a lieutenant and also earned his Bachelor’s degree from The University of Southern Mississippi. He later spent one year as head of security at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. After returning to Jackson he joined the Narcotics Bureau before retiring.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Lou Ann Wells. He is survived by his children, Sheila Wells Moseley (Alan) and David Howard Wells (Dena) and grandchildren, Trevor Lee Mullins (Brooke), Olivia, Alexa and Easton Wells.
