
She was predeceased by her husband of fifty years, Emile A. Meyer, Jr., her grandson, William P. Crockett III, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Anderson of Illinois.
She was always involved in music. Her paternal grandfather had been a minister and her paternal aunt was the superintendent of the church she belonged to. She was always performing or singing in the church. While in high school, she was in the choir and was chosen to perform in a sextet. They performed in small towns around where she lived. She met her husband of fifty years while performing in the sextet and were married shortly after.
They moved to Midland, Texas, where her husband was involved in the oil business. She was asked to model on television, hair styles, hats, jewelry, and clothing, as well as trunk shows. While in Texas, they were both involved in golf and tennis.
When they moved to Jackson, Mississippi, she did more of the same and enjoyed many bridge clubs and book clubs, while raising four children.
She is survived by her children, Malissa, husband Pat Zouboukos, Michelle, husband David Jacobs, Emile A. Meyer, III, and Wade A. Meyer; grandchildren, Taylor Crockett, Cameron Crockett, Preston Jacobs, Parker Jacobs, Emile A. Meyer IV, and Preston Meyer.
A memorial service will be held at Briarwood Presbyterian Church on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with a visitation held prior from 1:00 pm until service time.
