Lincoln was born in Scott, Louisiana on August 13, 1941 to Anna and Ulysse Arceneaux. He attended Scott High School, the University of Southwestern Louisiana, The University of Texas at Austin, and did a postdoctoral fellowship at Princeton University.
Lincoln married Jean Elizabeth LeBlanc and together they had one child, Jacques Louis Arceneaux. Lincoln retired from the University of Mississippi Medical Center as Associate Professor Emeritus of Microbiology and Immunology, and Associate Dean Emeritus of Student Affairs for the School of Medicine. In his free time, Lincoln was an avid baker, bird watcher, and astronomy afficionado. He also enjoyed furniture making, gardening, and sharing with everyone from his vast store of knowledge. He was a decades-long member of Saint Richard of Chichester Catholic Church in Jackson.
Lincoln is survived by his wife Jean, his son Jacques, his sisters Dolores Menard and Lou Guilbeaux (Don), and his brothers Ellender Arceneaux (Cathy), Russell Arceneaux (Brenda), and Earl Arceneaux (Barbara). He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Ulysse Arceneaux, his sister Anne Buller, and his brothers Tuney Arceneaux, MD, C. J. Arceneaux, and Linden Arceneaux.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Richard of Chichester Catholic Church in Jackson on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at noon. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 a.m. until noon. A reception will be held at the church after the funeral.
