Kelly Ann Chesser Bates, 77, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on July 11, 2021. She was born January 16, 1944 in Jackson MS. She was the daughter of A.B. Chesser and Carolyn S. Chesser Barland, who proceeded her in death.
She graduated from Provine High School in 1961. She then went to business college. She worked for several travel agencies as a bookkeeper. She met and married Arnold Junior Bates in 1969. After living in Pickens, MS and Jackson, MS she moved to Metairie LA where she lived for 40+ years. She has been a bookkeeper at a Select Property LTD right at 30 years.
Kelly is survived by two sons, Michael Arnold Bates (Kimberly) of Loranger, LA and William Troy Bates (Jamie) of Madison, MS and her two sisters Alice C Duke (Rodney) of Collins, MS and Beth C. Lindsey of Ridgeland MS. Kelly was also survived by 6 grandchildren: Brandon, Hunter, Alyssa, Caleb, Cody, and Kylie and 4 nephews and 2 nieces-in-law.
A celebration of her life will be held 2:00pm Saturday July 17, 2021 at Parkway Funeral Home preceded by visitation from 12-2:00pm. Friends and family are welcome.
