Kristin Ellner Walsh

Kristin Walsh, 45, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Lakeshore Church in Byram, with visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Friday at Wright & Ferguson in Ridgeland and from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Lakeshore Church.

Kristin was born June 22, 1967 in Smithtown, New York to Janice Stenmark and the late Irvin (Vinny) Ellner. She graduated from Northwest Rankin Attendance Center in 1985 and from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1989.

Kristin was an elementary school teacher for 17 years, teaching in the Mississippi Delta, Jackson and Hinds County public schools. Kristin was devoted to her students and will be fondly remembered by both students and faculty where she taught.

Kristin’s greatest joy was her daughter Kristina. She enjoyed every aspect of motherhood.

Kristin was a friend to everyone she met. She spent endless hours helping others and volunteering.

She was a member of Lakeshore Church in Byram.

Kristin is survived by daughter Kristina Walsh; grandmother Shirley Ellner of Roswell, GA; mother Janice Stenmark and step-father John Stenmark of Madison, MS; sister Allison Freil of Summit, MS; brother David Ellner of Norcross, GA; brother John Stenmark, Jr. of Madison, AL; brother Stephen Stenmark of Madison, MS; and five nieces and nephews.
