Lanny was born in Jackson, MS on February 5, 1950 to Frankie Westerfield Brown and Max Brown. He attended Hinds Jr. College.
Lanny married Nancy Lee Brown and together they had four children. He worked as a welder and carpenter and enjoyed music and playing the electric guitar.
He is preceded in death by his son, Frank Brown, and brother, Max Alvin Brown, Jr.
Lanny is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy Lee Brown; children, Lisa Richofsky, Lanny Brown, Jr. and Janet Lewis; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and niece, Michelle Castle Hawkins.
A family memorial service will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at 312 Afton Dr., Brandon, MS 39042.
