Born on Sept. 26, 1958, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Laurie was a graduate of Forest Hill High School, where she cheered for the Rebels.
After attending Phillips Business College, she embarked on a distinguished 31-year career with the State of Mississippi, beginning at the State Auditor’s Office in 1977. Laurie was a woman of strong and selfless faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A devout Christian, she studied God’s word and lived her beliefs in thought, word, and deed. She loved people and was cherished by her family and friends for her kindness and sweet spirit.
Her family and friends are confident that Laurie was greeted in Heaven with the words of Matthew’s Parable of The Talents: “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.”
She enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Laurie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a longtime member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Brandon.
